چکیده

IN 1938 Oppenheimer1 reported the first case of bilateral stenosis of the pulmonary main arteries diagnosed at autopsy. Since then several papers have been published describing clinical, cardiac catheterization, and angiocardiographic findings in both unilateral and bilateral stenosis of the pulmonary arteries.2-12 We are reporting cardiac catheterization and angiocardiographic findings in 12 patients with bilateral stenosis of the primary pulmonary artery branches. In all 12 patients characteristic pressure curves were consistently obtained from the pulmonary trunk that were reproduced experimentally in dogs. The hemodynamic explanation and the diagnostic value of these typical pressure curves are discussed. Material and Method Of 1,650 eardiac catheterizations performed in the Department of Pediatric Cardiophysiology of the Cook County Children's Hospital during the last 11 years, 60 patients were found to have stenosis of the primary pulmonary artery branches, 32 of whom had unilateral stenosis and 28 bilateral stenosis. The hemodynamie and angiocardiographic findings in 12 patients with bilateral stenosis, in

A Lumped Parameter Method to Calculate the Effect of Internal Carotid Artery Occlusion on Anterior Cerebral Artery Pressure Waveform

Background and Objective: Numerical modeling of biological structures would be very helpful tool to analyze hundreds of human body phenomena and also diseases diagnosis. One physiologic phenomenon is blood circulatory system and heart hemodynamic performance that can be simulated by utilizing lumped method. In this study, we can predict hemodynamic behavior of one artery of circulatory system (...

Sustained Hypoxic Pulmonary Vasoconstriction in the Isolated Perfused Rat Lung: Effect of α1-adrenergic Receptor Agonist

Background: Alveolar hypoxia induces monophasic pulmonary vasoconstriction in vivo, biphasic vasoconstriction in the isolated pulmonary artery, and controversial responses in the isolated perfused lung. Pulmonary vascular responses to sustained alveolar hypoxia have not been addressed in the isolated perfused rat lung. In this study, we investigated the effect of sustained hypoxic ventilation o...

اندازه گیری فشار شریان ریوی توسط داپلر و مقایسه آن با روش کاتتریسم

Pulmonary artery pressure can be estimated from right ventricular-right atrial pressure gradient in patients with tricuspid regurgitation. The most common approach is to estimate pulmonary artery systolic pressure from right ventricular pressure (assuming no pulmonic stenosis) determined as the sum of the right ventricular-right atrial pressure gradient and either an assumed or clinically deter...

Functional Diagnosis of Patent Ductus Arteriosus

The hemodynamic alterations revealed by cineangiocardiography in 53 cases of patent ductus arteriosus made possible the correct angiocardiographic diagnosis in 90 per cent of the cases. The most constant functional sign is "blanching of the pulmonary artery," which is seen during diastole and consists of a decrease in density of the pulmonary artery and its branches. This phenomenon has been an...

Post-valvular Stenosis of the Pulmonary Artery and Its Branches.

Though stenosis of the trunk and branches of the pulmonary artery has long been reported at necropsy (Maugars, 1802; Fiirst, 1878; Schwalbe, 1909; Oppenheimer, 1938), the disorder was thought to be extremely rare. During the past decade, however, it has been recognized more often due to the introduction of cardiac catheterization and selective angiocardiography (Moller, 1953; Coles and Walker, ...
